Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Travel Odyssey Inc. (“Travel Odyssey,” “Odyssey,” “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates Odyssey, an iOS travel-record application that allows adult users to capture, review, correct, organize, rate, and preserve places visited during trips they choose to start. Odyssey offers a free tier and an optional paid Pro subscription. The Odyssey mobile application, related backend services, features, software, and support are collectively the “Services.”

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and otherwise process Personal Data through the Services and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to the first public App Store release and to both free and Pro features. The Services are also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and any other terms or product disclosures presented within the Services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party applications or services that we do not own or control.

Precise location is central to Odyssey’s trip-capture functionality. This Privacy Policy therefore explains when location collection occurs, how location and place information are used, which providers may process that information, how different forms of location information are retained, and the controls available to you. We use Personal Data only as described in this Privacy Policy, as disclosed when information is collected, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

Definitions

Consumer Health Data: “Consumer Health Data” means Personal Data that identifies or is reasonably linkable to a consumer and identifies or may reveal the consumer’s past, present, or future physical or mental health status, including precise location information that could reasonably indicate an attempt to acquire or receive health services or supplies, as defined by applicable law.

Data Processors / Service Providers: A data processor, service provider, contractor, or subprocessor is a person or company that processes Personal Data for another party. Travel Odyssey uses third-party providers for functions such as authentication, device location services, place matching, cloud infrastructure and storage, subscriptions, analytics, feedback management, automated narrative generation, internal quality review, security, and mobile-app distribution.

Personal Data: “Personal Data” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with an individual, household, account, or device, as defined by applicable law.

Precise Location: “Precise Location” means latitude and longitude or similar information that identifies a device’s or individual’s specific location with a degree of precision protected by applicable law.

Services: “Services” means the Odyssey iOS application and its related backend services, software, features, subscriptions, integrations, and support.

Usage Data: “Usage Data” means information collected automatically from use of the Services or Service infrastructure, including technical events, device and application information, account-linked feature activity, diagnostics, and performance information.

User: “User” or “you” means an individual who creates or uses an Odyssey account, uses the Services, or communicates with Travel Odyssey.

Scope and Geographic Availability

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Odyssey iOS application, its related backend services, and direct support or feedback communications. Odyssey does not currently offer a web application. The Services are intended for adults who reside in the United States. A U.S. resident may use Odyssey while traveling in locations where the Services and applicable providers are available. Personal Data may be transferred to, processed in, or stored in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate.

Information Collection and Use

We collect different types of information to provide, operate, secure, support, personalize, and improve Odyssey. Information may be provided by you, collected from your device during your use of the Services, generated through your interactions with the Services, derived through Odyssey’s stop-detection and place-matching functions, or received from service providers used to deliver the Services.

The information collected depends on the features you use, whether you begin an active trip, the permissions you grant, and whether you use the free or Pro tier. You choose when to begin and end trip capture and may review, correct, rename, rate, or delete places associated with your travel record.

Odyssey is U.S.-focused, but information may be processed in other jurisdictions where service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live or travel.

Types of Data Collected

Information You Choose to Give Us

When you use the Services, you may provide Personal Data to create or administer an account, personalize your experience, create and edit trips, upload media, subscribe to Pro, obtain support, submit feedback, or use other features. Depending on your choices, this information may include:

  • Your name, email address or relay address, sign-in provider, and unique account identifier

  • Optional profile and preference information, such as postal or ZIP code, travel style, budget range, trip length, pace, companions, and dietary preferences

  • Trip titles and dates, cover photos, place names, saved-stop coordinates and timestamps, ratings, Loved status, notes, corrections, custom place names, bucket-list places, survey responses, and any travel record you choose to publish

  • Photos, videos, and other trip media that Pro users choose to upload, subject to the limits described in the App

  • Subscription and transaction information received from Apple, such as subscription status, product, renewal, cancellation, and transaction identifiers; Travel Odyssey does not receive or store your complete payment-card number

  • Support requests, reported issues, feedback, and other communications you choose to submit

Precise Location and Visit Information

Odyssey collects Precise Location only while you have an active trip in progress. During an active trip, location information may be collected while the App is in the foreground, background, or closed so Odyssey can detect places where your device stops. Odyssey does not collect Precise Location for trip capture between active trips. Collection stops when you end the trip, disable location permission, or otherwise turn off trip capture.

Location information processed during an active trip may include latitude and longitude, timestamps, accuracy estimates, movement-related signals made available by the device, and information derived from those signals, such as a possible stop, dwell duration, stop centroid, sequence, and confidence or scoring information.

Odyssey does not store a continuous raw GPS breadcrumb trail on its servers. For each detected stop, Odyssey may store latitude and longitude, timestamp, accuracy radius, dwell duration, and related place information. A detected-stop record remains associated with the applicable trip until you delete the trip or your account, subject to the retention practices described below.

Odyssey uses Apple device location services together with Odyssey’s stop-detection logic. Qualifying detections send coordinates to Radar Labs, Inc. to identify nearby place candidates. Odyssey stores the returned place information, which may include a place name, address, category, image, and other place details. If the nearest candidate is identified by the provider as a private residence, Odyssey is designed to skip the stop and create no record. Because that process depends on third-party classifications and technical conditions, it reduces but cannot guarantee the exclusion of every residence.

You control device-level location permission through your iPhone settings. If you decline or disable required location permission, automatic trip capture will not function and core trip-tracking features will be limited.

Sensitive Personal Data and Sensitive Locations

Precise Location and place information can reveal sensitive circumstances, including visits associated with healthcare, reproductive or sexual health, gender-affirming care, mental or behavioral health, substance-use treatment, religious practice, political activity, domestic-violence services, or similar matters.

Odyssey captures places for your private travel record. When a place is classified as health-related or similarly sensitive, Odyssey is designed to exclude that place from automated trip narratives, your identity profile, shared ratings, and other aggregated or shared data. Sensitive place details remain private within your account so that you can review, correct, or delete them. Classification and detection processes may be imperfect, and you should review your travel record and correct or delete any place that is inaccurate or that you do not want retained.

Trip Content Media and Publishing

Odyssey allows you to create, upload, edit, store, and, when a sharing or publication feature is available, publish trip content. Your private trips, Pro media, and generated narratives are not made available to other users unless you affirmatively use a sharing or publication feature. Information you choose to publish or share may be viewed, copied, or further disclosed by the recipients or audience you select. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload or publish content concerning another person.

Third-Party Services and Integrations

Travel Odyssey uses approved third-party services, including Apple for iOS distribution, device location services, Sign in with Apple, notifications, TestFlight, and Pro subscription transactions; Google and Facebook for optional authentication; Radar Labs for place matching; Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage, for authentication, cloud infrastructure, storage, and data warehousing; Google Gemini for optional automated trip narratives; Anthropic for automated assistance with internal quality review; PostHog for product analytics; and Notion for feedback management. A provider receives only information reasonably necessary for the applicable function, subject to its role, our instructions, applicable contractual restrictions, and applicable law.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Travel Odyssey does not control the independent practices of a third party when you leave the Services, use a third-party sign-in method, manage an Apple subscription, or otherwise interact directly with that party.

Communications and Marketing

We may use your contact information to respond to support requests, provide account or security notices, send subscription or Service information, and deliver other administrative communications. If Travel Odyssey sends non-essential marketing communications, you may opt out using the unsubscribe method in the communication or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent transactional, security, legal, or other Service-related communications.

Usage Data and Diagnostics

We may collect Usage Data to maintain security, troubleshoot issues, evaluate reliability, understand feature usage, and improve the Services. Depending on your device and use, this may include:

  • Device model, operating-system version, App version, language, time zone, and network information

  • Internet Protocol address and general region inferred from technical information

  • Device or installation identifiers, account identifiers, sign-in provider, first login date, and notification tokens

  • Screens, features, and functions viewed or used, including onboarding, trip creation, publication, ratings, and referral or installation attribution

  • Session duration, navigation patterns, technical events, error reports, crash data, diagnostics, and performance information

PostHog receives usage events tied to an account identifier rather than your name or email address. Travel Odyssey does not send your name, email address, or location coordinates to PostHog. We may also use logs and diagnostic information to investigate security, reliability, and product-quality issues.

Location Choices and Controls

You choose when to start and end an active trip. Ending a trip stops future active-trip location collection but does not delete information already saved. You may disable location permission through iPhone settings, review and correct detected places, delete an individual place or trip, or delete your account. Disabling location permission prevents future automatic trip capture but does not automatically delete stored information.

Additional User Controls

  • Start and stop trip capture at any time

  • Review, confirm, correct, rename, add, rate, or delete detected places before publishing a trip

  • View, add, download, and delete Pro trip media

  • Manage on-device notifications through the App and iPhone settings

  • Access much of your information in the App and request access, correction, portability, or deletion as described below

Camera Photos Videos and Uploaded Content

The Services may allow you to upload photos, videos, cover images, notes, and other content. The App may request access to device photos, camera, or storage only when needed for a feature you choose to use. You may manage those permissions through iPhone settings. Travel Odyssey processes uploaded content as necessary to host, display, secure, support, back up, and administer the Services.

AI and Automated Features

For Pro users, Odyssey may use Google Gemini to generate an editable trip narrative from eligible trip information. Odyssey may also generate an identity profile from eligible places you have rated. Health-related and similarly sensitive places are designed to be excluded from these features. Travel Odyssey may use Anthropic-assisted tools to review production records for place-detection quality, troubleshoot errors, and improve the Services. Automated outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate. These features are not used to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Information Third Parties Provide About You

We may receive information from third parties that support your use of Odyssey or provide the Services. This may include:

  • Account identifiers, name or relay address, and authentication information from Apple, Google, or Facebook when you use the corresponding sign-in method

  • Place candidates, names, addresses, categories, images, and related place information from Radar Labs after qualifying coordinates are submitted for place matching

  • Subscription product, status, renewal, cancellation, and transaction information from Apple

  • Cloud, analytics, diagnostic, and security information from Google Cloud Platform, PostHog, and other infrastructure providers

  • Feedback records and related information from Notion when needed to respond to or manage feedback you submitted

Tracking Analytics and Advertising

Odyssey uses PostHog for product analytics as described above. Travel Odyssey does not sell Personal Data, use Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising, or disclose Precise Location for another company’s independent advertising or marketing. Facebook Login is available only as an authentication option. The launch version is configured so Meta’s software does not receive App install or session events or a device advertising identifier from Users who are not using Facebook Login. Odyssey does not currently use advertising networks or third-party advertising pixels within the App.

Because Odyssey does not currently offer a web application and does not engage in sale, sharing, or targeted advertising requiring an opt-out, browser-based cookie controls, Do Not Track signals, and Global Privacy Control signals do not currently affect App processing. If our practices change or applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, we will provide the required notice and mechanism.

Use of Personal Data

Travel Odyssey uses Personal Data to provide and administer the Services and for the specific purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent Personal Data for monetary consideration. If our practices materially change in a manner that constitutes a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable privacy law, we will update our disclosures and provide any required rights, choices, or consent.

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To create, authenticate, maintain, secure, and support accounts

  • To start and end trips at your direction and detect, identify, organize, and store possible stops and places

  • To allow you to review, correct, rename, rate, save, delete, share, or publish trip information

  • To maintain your private travel record, preferences, bucket list, Loved places, ratings, media, and other selected features

  • To generate and allow editing of Pro trip narratives and to generate an identity profile from eligible rated places

  • To process and administer Pro subscription status through Apple

  • To provide support, respond to feedback and privacy requests, and troubleshoot technical or account issues

  • To perform analytics, testing, quality assurance, research, and product development

  • To send administrative, security, subscription, Service, and permitted marketing communications

  • To detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, security incidents, and technical problems

  • To comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, App Store, and service-provider requirements

  • To support internal business operations, auditing, reporting, and administration

  • To create and maintain deidentified or aggregated information, subject to safeguards designed to prevent reidentification

In some circumstances, we may use Personal Data for another purpose disclosed when the information is collected, with your consent where required, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

Washington Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

This section applies to Consumer Health Data covered by the Washington My Health My Data Act, including Consumer Health Data concerning Washington residents and Consumer Health Data collected in Washington. Precise Location associated with a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, reproductive or sexual health provider, mental or behavioral health provider, substance-use treatment provider, gender-affirming care provider, or similar location may constitute Consumer Health Data even when Odyssey collects it to create your private travel record.

Categories Sources and Purposes

The categories of Consumer Health Data Odyssey may collect are Precise Location, timestamps, accuracy information, dwell duration, detected-stop information, place names, addresses, categories, corrections, and other place details that may reveal or permit an inference about an attempt to seek or receive health services or supplies. Sources include your device and Apple location services during a trip you start, Radar Labs place-matching results, information derived through Odyssey’s stop-detection and classification logic, and corrections or other information you provide.

Odyssey collects and uses this information to provide the trip-capture and private travel-record service you request, detect and identify possible stops, allow you to review and correct your record, maintain your selected trip history, exclude sensitive places from narratives, identity profiles, shared ratings and aggregates, protect the Services, investigate problems, comply with law, and honor your choices and requests.

Disclosure and Processors

Odyssey may disclose Consumer Health Data to processors only as reasonably necessary to provide or support the Services you request. Categories of processors may include device-location providers, place-matching providers, cloud hosting and storage providers, and providers assisting with security, troubleshooting, or internal quality review. These providers may include Apple, Radar Labs, Google Cloud Platform and, when applicable to protected quality-review workflows, Anthropic. Processors are directed to handle Consumer Health Data consistently with the applicable service, Travel Odyssey’s instructions, contractual restrictions, this Privacy Policy, and applicable law. Travel Odyssey does not sell Consumer Health Data or disclose it for another company’s independent advertising or marketing.

Odyssey does not use a geofence around an entity that provides in-person health services to identify or track a person seeking health services, collect Consumer Health Data from a person, or send health-related messages or advertising.

Consent Choices and Rights

Odyssey collects and processes Consumer Health Data to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the trip-capture and private travel-record service that you affirmatively request by starting a trip. Where separate consent is required, Odyssey will present the categories of Consumer Health Data, purposes, categories of recipients, and withdrawal method before the applicable collection or disclosure. Consent to collect and consent to share will be obtained separately when applicable and will not be inferred from acceptance of general terms.

You may end an active trip, disable location permission, delete a place or trip, or delete your account. Depending on applicable law, you may also request confirmation of whether Odyssey collects, shares, or sells your Consumer Health Data; access the data; obtain a list of third parties and affiliates to which it was shared or sold; withdraw consent to future collection or sharing; or request deletion. Travel Odyssey will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Submit a Consumer Health Data request by emailing team@travelodyssey.ai with the subject line “Consumer Health Data Request.” We may use your existing account and request information reasonably necessary to authenticate your identity and request. We will respond without undue delay and within 45 days when required, subject to one permitted 45-day extension. If we deny a request, we will provide the required explanation and appeal method. A denied appeal may be submitted to the Washington Attorney General through the mechanism identified in our response.

When a qualifying deletion request is authenticated, Travel Odyssey will delete covered Consumer Health Data from its records and notify applicable processors, contractors, affiliates, and other third parties as required. Deletion from archived or backup systems may be delayed until those systems are restored, but will not be delayed longer than permitted by applicable law, including the six-month limit under the Washington My Health My Data Act.

Retention of Data

Travel Odyssey retains Personal Data only for periods reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your selected travel record, meet security and operational needs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Detected-stop records containing coordinates, timestamps, accuracy radius, dwell duration, and related private place information are generally retained for the life of the associated trip or account unless you delete the place, trip, or account earlier. Odyssey does not retain a continuous raw GPS breadcrumb trail on its servers.

Place information returned by Radar may be temporarily stored in a shared cache keyed by a capture coordinate. Radar identifiers, candidate lists, addresses, categories, Radar-suggested place names, and other address or point-of-interest data returned by Radar are deleted or refreshed within 30 days after retrieval and are not retained beyond that period in shared caches, legacy records, warehouses, logs, or backup systems. Merely confirming a Radar-suggested place name does not convert it into User Content. Odyssey may separately retain coordinates collected from the User’s device, timestamps, trip structure, and custom place labels independently entered by a User, subject to the retention terms in this Privacy Policy.

Place-rating aggregates may remain after deletion because they do not contain a User identifier and are rebuilt from eligible ratings of current Users. Feedback text may be retained without identifying information after your name and email address are removed. Different records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security incidents, legal holds, disputes, fraud prevention, or compliance, or as required by law.

Transfer of Data

Travel Odyssey is U.S.-focused, but Personal Data may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in jurisdictions other than the state or location where it was collected, including locations where Travel Odyssey or its service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ among jurisdictions. Where required, Travel Odyssey uses contractual, organizational, technical, or other safeguards appropriate to the processing and applicable law.

Business Transaction

If Travel Odyssey is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, investment, corporate restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar business transaction, Personal Data may be disclosed or transferred as part of due diligence, the transaction, or a transition. Any resulting processing will remain subject to applicable law and the privacy notices, consents, or other protections required in connection with the transaction.

Disclosure for Law Enforcement and Legal Process

Travel Odyssey may disclose or preserve Personal Data when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, legal process, or a valid request by a court, government agency, law-enforcement authority, regulator, or other public authority. The information disclosed will depend on the request and may include account, trip, place, location, content, transaction, usage, or other information maintained through the Services.

Legal Requirements

Travel Odyssey may also disclose or preserve Personal Data in good faith when reasonably believed necessary for the following purposes:

  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, contractual obligations, or provider requirements

  • To protect the rights, property, systems, privacy, security, or safety of Travel Odyssey, its personnel, Users, or others

  • To investigate, prevent, or address suspected fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, abuse, or violations involving the Services

  • To respond to security incidents or other material safety, privacy, or legal concerns

  • To protect the personal safety of Users or the public

  • To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and reduce legal or operational risk

Security of Data

Travel Odyssey uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction. These measures may include encryption in transit and at rest where supported, authentication and access controls, restricted backend writes, logging, monitoring, provider security controls, and security reviews. No method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Breach Notification

If Travel Odyssey experiences a security incident involving Personal Data, we will investigate and provide notice to affected individuals, regulators, or others when and as required by applicable law. The form, timing, and content of any notice will depend on the nature of the incident and applicable legal requirements.

U.S. Privacy Signals and California Notices

Travel Odyssey does not currently sell or share Personal Data or use Personal Data for targeted advertising in a manner for which an opt-out is required. Accordingly, we do not currently provide a separate opt-out mechanism for those activities. If our practices change or applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, we will implement and honor qualifying signals as required by law. California and other state residents may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, limitation of certain sensitive-data uses, and opt-out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling, depending on applicable law and the nature of the processing.

How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights

To submit a privacy request, email team@travelodyssey.ai with the subject line “Privacy Request” or use a privacy-request mechanism available within the App. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, authority, residency, or the scope of the request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to verification of the agent’s authority. If we deny a request, we will provide any explanation or appeal process required by applicable law.

Service Providers

Travel Odyssey may engage Service Providers and processors to operate, secure, support, and deliver the Services. Current categories and providers include Apple for mobile distribution, device location services, authentication, notifications, TestFlight, and subscription transactions; Google and Facebook for optional authentication; Radar Labs for place matching; Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage, for authentication, hosting, storage, infrastructure, and data warehousing; Google Gemini for automated trip narratives; Anthropic for automated assistance with internal quality review; PostHog for product analytics; and Notion for feedback management. These providers receive Personal Data only as reasonably necessary for the applicable service and are subject to restrictions appropriate to their role and applicable law. We require providers to protect Personal Data consistently with their obligations and the protections described in this Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and Payments

Odyssey may offer a paid Pro subscription through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple processes subscription purchases, payment credentials, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and related transactions under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Travel Odyssey may receive subscription status, product, transaction identifier, renewal, cancellation, and related information needed to provide Pro features and support. Travel Odyssey does not ordinarily receive or store complete payment-card credentials.

Links to Other Sites and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, app stores, authentication providers, maps, or other resources that Travel Odyssey does not operate. If you follow a third-party link or interact directly with a third party, that party may collect information under its own privacy policy. Travel Odyssey does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or independent practices of third parties.

Adults Only

You must be at least 18 years old to use Odyssey. The Services are intended only for adults who can enter into a binding agreement. Because Odyssey collects Precise Location, including in the background during an active trip, Travel Odyssey does not permit use by anyone under 18.

We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected Personal Data from a person under 18, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete or otherwise address the information as required by law. A parent or guardian who believes a person under 18 provided Personal Data may contact us.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you reside and the nature of Travel Odyssey’s processing, applicable U.S. state privacy laws may provide rights regarding Personal Data. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions, verification requirements, or limitations. Where applicable, rights may include:

  • The right to know whether we process your Personal Data and to access certain Personal Data we maintain about you

  • The right to request information about the categories, sources, purposes, and disclosures of Personal

Data

  • The right to correct inaccurate Personal Data and request deletion, subject to applicable exceptions

  • The right to opt out of sale or sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling where those rights apply

  • The right to limit or restrict certain uses or disclosures of sensitive Personal Data where applicable

  • The right to obtain a portable copy of Personal Data where required and technically feasible

  • The right to use an authorized agent, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or appeal a denial where applicable law provides those rights

  • The right not to receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising an applicable privacy right

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, Service features, providers, or our privacy practices. The revised version will include an updated effective or revision date. We may provide additional notice within the App or through another appropriate channel, require renewed acceptance, or obtain consent before using Personal Data for a materially new purpose when required by law.

Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

You may initiate account deletion within the App or contact us using the information below. Deleting the App from your device does not by itself delete your account or stored information. Account deletion initiates removal of your trips, detected-stop records, edited-place information, preferences, pinned and bucket-list places, survey responses, reported issues, identity profile, media, account record, and related Personal Data, subject to the retention practices and legal exceptions described above. Your ratings stop contributing to shared place-rating aggregates on the next rebuild; deidentified aggregate counts may remain. If you submitted feedback, your name and email address are removed from the feedback record and feedback content may be retained without identifying information. Backup deletion may take additional time as described above.
